About Us

The Name Agorara

In ancient time the Agora was a central public space in Greek city-states. It is the best representation of the city form’s response to accommodate the social and political order of the polis. The literal meaning of the word is ‘gathering place’. The agora was the centre of the athletic, artistic, spiritual, trading and political life in the city.

In modern Greece the word agora represents a place where you find many shops and people trading goods. If you visit Greece and you ask what Agorara means for the people, the response you would get is ‘it’s a very large market‘.

The Idea

The idea is to create a business to business wholesale marketplace in the cloud, aiming to bring buyers and sellers of food and beverages, easing the way to doing business together through the use of technology.

We wanted to offer services such as Digital Marketing, to assist  businesses  in the marketplace to expand in their target markets. At the same time providing buyers opportunities to source products they would otherwise not easily find.

Although we started in  Australia, our sellers’ network extends to markets overseas. So far, our reach extends across we cover a great number of countries in Europe, Asia and Oceania, with more to join in future. 

Sellers could be of any type within the food-chain, such as farmers, manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers.

All of them have a common goal, to present their products either in the Australian market or to overseas markets, connected to our platform in order to find new customers and expand sales.

Our Team

A small team of highly motivated people commenced the design of this platform in Sydney Australia in early 2020.

The leader of the team, Nick Kagelaris, with wide experience in both business and technology, within large corporations across Australian and Europe.  

The highly accomplished team has expanded globally, working as Agents and developers. 

We love what we do and are happy to hear how satisfied our clients  are with the platform.
