Product Description
Excellent quality honey from honeydew secretions produced in the pine forests of northern Evia (i.e. Agia Anna, Prokopi, Mantoudi). The main features of this honey type are that it does not crystallize easily and it is not very sweet in taste either. It also contains fewer calories compared to flower honey. Its colour varies from pale when produced in spring-summer (thick honey) to darker when produced in autumn. Pine honey is considered a highly nutritious type of honey, something which is indicative of its high ash content. This is mainly due to the large number of different substances found in Greece’s pine trees. Pine honey is rich in metals and minerals (e.g. calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, copper, etc.) which render it to be an excellent medicine for throat infections and diseases.
